CFPSA Extends IDC Contract

The Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency (CFPSA) exercised a contract option for International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) to continue providing broadcast services for military personnel deployed abroad.

The extension covers the final year of a three-year C$7 million contract awarded to IDC in 2006. Under the terms of the contract, IDC delivers live news, sports, entertainment, regional programming and special events for the Canadian Forces Radio and Television (CFRT) network.

“IDC has proven that it has the capabilities to keep our troops in touch with what is happening back home in Canada”, said Mark Larose, manager of deployment policies and resources at CFPSA.

“We are pleased and deeply honoured to be able to continue to provide this valuable service for the Canadian Forces personnel serving overseas”, said Ron Clifton, IDC president and chief executive.

“The entire company takes great pride in our work with the CFPSA and the fact that our Superflex technology is being utilized in this way. This will be the ninth year of service for us and we look forward to continuing this relationship”, said Clifton.
