TECHNOLOGY: Pro-Bel Unveils Morpheus ICE
By TVTechnology published
Pro-Bel, the Reading, England automation maker, has integrated its specialty into a master control system dubbed Morpheus ICE, for “Integrated Content Engine.” Pro-Bel states that ICE “delivers in a single 3U [sic] box what would otherwise take several products from several manufacturers to achieve.”
Based Morpheus automation and playout technology, ICE provides the functions necessary for single-channel playout. It supports a range of SD and HD file formats, “removing the transcode bottleneck” Pro-Bel states. The platform has 1 TB of internal RAID storage--enough for 100 hours of DV25--and can be connected to network attached storage for a bigger bucket. It includes a full-featured mixer and control capability for an external Pro-Bel router.
ICE also manages audio voiceovers, imports and stores graphics for output layering and integrates with third-party graphics generators.
