The Hollywood Post Alliance is accepting presentation proposals for its Technology Retreat, to be held next Feb. 18-20 at the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif..
Submissions must be received by Mark Schubin at tvmark@earthlink.net no later than Oct. 24.
“They need not be formal. A sentence or two about the proposal is sufficient. If I need more info, I'll ask,” he said.
Subjects can cover any aspect of cinema, video, audio, and television technology, including acquisition, storage, processing, distribution, presentation, monitoring, forensic analysis, and psychophysics. Presentations must not be marketing or sales pitches.
“We usually receive at least six times more proposals than there is room for in the program. Selections are made based not only on apparent merit but also on trends that emerge in the submission process, so not making the cut does not necessarily indicate insufficient quality or interest.
Decisions are expected to be made in late November.
Schubin will also start accepting proposals for breakfast roundtables to be conducted on Feb. 19 and/or 20. The roundtables are concurrent and start at 7:30 a.m. There is no deadline, but they will be accepted in the order received until there are no more tables.
Information on demonstration-room space requests and attendee registration will be made available later.
