By TVTechnology published
RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF.: The Advanced Television Systems Committee is organizing a half-day seminar on digital audio technology to be held Feb. 16. The event is being held in conjunction with the Hollywood Post Alliance Technology Retreat Feb. 16-19 in Rancho Mirage.
The “ATSC Summit on Audio Loudness Management” will provide a follow-up to a seminar on audio for digital broadcast held last year. The focus of that program was to identify solutions for dialnorm. This session will examine the ATSC’s Recommended Practice on such audio loudness issues. Jerry Whitaker, ATSC vice president for
standards development, said the HPA Retreat seminar would be a good opportunity for audio engineers and technology managers to get a handle on the RP and question the folks who compiled it.
The Audio Summit will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ranchos Las Palmas Resort. Additional information and registration can be found on the HPA Web site.
