Loyd Ivey, founder and CEO of Mitek, has announced the merger of Atlas Sound, a Mitek subsidiary, and Innovative Electronic Designs (IED), a Louisville, KY-based maker of A/V communications management systems and components. Founded in 1934, Atlas Sound is a long-time provider of audio for commercial applications.
The two companies will continue to operate independently, with no changes in management, staffing or daily operations. IED and Atlas Sound will be part of the newly formed Mitek High Performance Communications Group. Mitek also owns the consumer audio brands MTX, DCM, Coustic, StreetWires, Re-Q and Xtant.
