Turner Broadcasting automates with Pro-Bel in Buenos Aires

In addition to handling the playout, the Morpheus system allows material to be transferred from Atlanta to Buenos Aires and vice versa.

Pro-Bel has announced that Cable Servicios Del Sur, a Turner Broadcasting property, has selected its Morpheus automation and media management solution for a new playout and transmission facility in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Turner Broadcasting, a Time Warner company, has become a key broadcaster across Latin America. Prior to the opening of its facility in Buenos Aires, all broadcast-related services for the Turner channels were handled from its headquarters in Atlanta. Now, 11 Turner Latin American network feeds are being broadcast from Buenos Aires.

Pro-Bel’s Morpheus automation and media management technology has been installed across these eleven channels. As well as handling the playout, the system allows material to be transferred from Atlanta to Buenos Aires and vice versa. TBS previously installed Morpheus in its Atlanta facility as well as earlier generations of Pro-Bel automation technology.

With Morpheus, devices can be allocated to playout streams manually or automatically according to user-defined parameters. Device usage is constantly monitored, ensuring scheduling conflicts are instantly reported and centrally managed across multiple channels.
