Keywest Technology is offering consumers a free Internet weather feature to help bolster its MediaXtreme media server product. The MediaXtreme media server’s Internet weather feature lets users specify up to eight weather variables on screen from 17 possible data points.
Users type in their zip code to identify their geographical location. The Internet Weather options present users with a list of airport weather reporting stations nearby from which they can choose. Finally, users then select the weather conditions they want to appear on their page, and the MediaXtreme automatically gathers the data at regular intervals from the reporting station.
The company formerly charged $500 for Internet weather feature.
