VideoPropulsion will exhibit its new Torrent Q6RF six-channel PCI QAM card with onboard RF upconversion at IBC2005.

The newest member of the Torrent Quadrature Amplitude Modulator family, the Q6RF is a standard 64-bit 66MHz PCI interface card that can be factory-configured for up to six 38.8Mb/s, 6MHz 256QAM channels.

Each group of three adjacent channels is implemented across a frequency agile, digital upconverter employing a single F type connector. Applications that may have required one or more cables from the server to QAMs, six cables from QAMs to upconverters, and another six cables from upconverters to a video distribution point, can now be installed with only two external RG-6 coaxial cables.
