Thomson to Unveil Viper FilmStream Camera

At NAB2002 Thomson multimedia will debut its Viper FilmStream camera, which it hopes will set new standards for pure cinematography.

The Viper is designed to provide Technicolor-certified, extremely high-quality colorimetry. It uses a 9.2-mega pixel TrueProgressive frame CCD sensor and aspect ratios from HDTV to wide screen.

The camera delivers 4:4:4 RGB color sampling. The 12-bit linear signal passes to digital output uncompressed and unfiltered. The data is then converted to a 10-bit log and leaves the camera via the FilmStream transport layer.
