The Outdoor Channel opens new broadcast center

The Outdoor Channel (TOC) officially opened its new broadcast center March 31.

Designed by Los Angeles architecture firm Studio 440, the new facility features master control, tape-ops, central equipment room, tech shop, digital edit bays, a conference room and fully networked offices in a distinctive open design. The facility also has a new 24ft satellite dish atop its own stand-alone equipment structure, allowing TOC to bring its satellite uplink in-house.

The design of the new 39,000sq ft facility reflects The Outdoor Channel’s desire to have a technologically advanced broadcast center that would evoke the rugged spirit of the outdoors. The result is an impressive combination of natural materials and technical precision.

Broadcast integration firm Technical Innovation of Norcross, GA, provided systems integration.
