Thales Demos MPEG Delivery, Transmitters

Thales Broadcast will demo its technology for MPEG content creation, delivery and adaptation for regional modification. The company also is showing its latest advances in both MSDC-IOT and solid-state DTV transmitters.

At its NAB2005 booth, Thales will showcase its approach to compressed content regionalization, including Digital Program Insertion (DPI) for ad/logo insertions. Also showcased is the company's use of DVB-H broadcasting for mobile/handheld devices, which will include a demonstration of content creation, packing, distribution and RF transmission.

On the transmitter side, Thales is spotlighting its DCX Paragon high-efficiency MSDC-IOT transmitter line, which combines the company's Soft Arc Technology (SAT) and efficient MSDC tubes for the lowest cost of ownership. Other featured transmitters include the Ultimate/Optimum, solid-state transmitters that can be used for analog, digital, air-cooled or liquid-cooled applications. Thales' solid-state architecture can be easily upgradeable from NTSC to DTV.

Thales Broadcast will be in Booth C4508.
