Terayon Upgrades Cherrypicker

Terayon has updated its DM 6400 Network CherryPicker DVR platform.

CherryPicker 4.0 allows cable television and other network operators to move towards all-digital networks, accommodating a demand for VOD, HDTV and other digital programming.

The software update includes a "Distributed Chassis" feature that allows users to acquire, manage and distribute video services to any point in the network. The chassis increases the input capacity up for 400 percent without an external switch. Another new feature is a master control management console that works with the Distributed Chassis to enable operators to manage the network of CherryPickers as a single system. This release also offers program redundancy and expanded IP video networking capabilities.

CherryPicker 4.0 is shipping with Terayon DM 6400 Network CherryPickers.
