Streambox Announces New Encoder
By TVTechnology published
Streambox debuted its newest product, the Mobile Software Encoder, at the recent CES in Las Vegas. The application is designed for rapid streaming of actualities from breaking news events to broadcasters’ newsrooms via Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity.
The software accommodates both real-time and store-and-forward content delivery and enables citizen reporters and first responders, as well as reporters, to deliver breaking news.
“Our award-winning solutions continue to set the standard for reliable real-time reporting of breaking news over low bandwidth connections,” said Bob Hildeman, Streambox’s chairman and CEO. “The Mobile Software Encoder adds flexibility and extends the newsgathering capabilities of reporters by immediately enabling them to start transmitting higher quality live video to leading news organizations as events unfold.”
The product uses Streambox’s ACT-L3 proprietary compression techniques, which couple highly efficient video encoding with error correction and bandwidth shaping technologies in order to provide enhanced transport via Wi-Fi and 3G networks.
