Sony has introduced two products to its HDW Series of HDCAM camcorders. The HDW-650P and HDW-650F come with a number of new features aimed at making high-quality HD content creation more accessible.
The HDW-650P and HDW-650F offer a choice of video formats for both frame rates and scanning mode, supporting 1080/50i/59.94i or 1080/25p, and 1080/50i/59.94i/23.98P (24P) respectively.
Both the new cameras come with three 2/3-inch type Power HAD FX CCDs, as well as a 14-bit A/D converter, and a DSP LSI as standard and deliver a high signal-to-noise ratio of up to 59dB.
Both the HDW-650P and HDW-650F camcorders comprise a 3.5-inch flip-out colour LCD screen on the inside panel – providing instant review of recorded footage, an optional colour or monochrome viewfinder and an optional ECM series microphone.
"With the launch of the HDW-650P and HDW-650F HDCAM Camcorders, we are empowering producers to break new ground in terms of creativity, speed and cost-efficiency," said Sony's Paul Maroni, Assistant General Manager, Broadcast and Content Creation Solutions Asia Pacific.
