Ross Video is now offering a direct interface between the company's Synergy line of digital production switchers and ParkerVision's CameraMan robotic camera system. The new software upgrade for Synergy switchers will allow users to integrate existing ParkerVision camera installations with multidefinition control rooms. The first use of the new functionality is at WAWS in Jacksonville, Fla.
"I really appreciate the extra effort that Ross put into getting this interface completed," said Doug Crall, director of engineering for WAWS. "It allowed us to take advantage of the power of the Ross OverDrive system and will also save us money by protecting our investment in our ParkerVision cameras."
The interface is contained in Version 6.1 of the Synergy switcher software and provides additional functionality for the Ross control room products, which include Synergy and the Ross OverDrive integrated production control system.
