Satellite service provider RAMTelecom announced last week that it has formed a strategic alliance with Houston-based SkyPort International Houston.
SkyPort provides broadband satellite and terrestrial communication services globally. It operates a Network Operations Center and teleport at the highly secure Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base in Houston. RAMTelecom has a similar Network Operations Center and secure teleport in Ottawa.
The two teleports will be connected by fiber-optic cable, which will provide full backup for each facility and further secure each company’s communications service offerings by providing complete network redundancy.
