ProMax has added to its FireWire storage product line with FireMax-R external RAID drives.
The FireMax-R series removable 2-bay RAID handles multiple streams of DV, HDV and uncompressed SD with NLE programs on Mac and Windows XP platforms. Users can swap out the removable bays, allowing for backup and storage expansion as well as access to other projects.
The video editing application provider expects to have a 4-bay version by Q1 2005. FireMax-R is available through ProMax--based in Irvine, Calif.--in 500 GB and 800 GB capacities.
