Pixelworks is launching an ATSC-compliant "DTV in a Box."
The box users integrated hardware and software designed with Digital Natural Expression (DNE) video quality. The system is built around the PWM2000 MediaProcessor IC, an integrated MPEG-2 video decoder that supports ATSC. The system is also NTSC-compatible.
Allen Ally, CEO of the Tualatin, Ore.-based company said that this technology allows customers to leverage their existing software infrastructure into DTVs.
