Newport Media this month has begun customer sampling of its MBRAI-compliant NMI310 single-chip Sundance H mobile digital TV receiver, targeted at the DVB-H and DVB-T markets.
The NMI310 is designed to serve as the foundation for future SOC products supporting T-DMB, ISDB-T and MediaFLO, among other standards. It combines a quad-band, direct-conversion radio, a DVB-H demodulator and all necessary memory. The device receives up to eight simultaneous channels while maintaining a 3dB noise figure for extended coverage. Power consumption is 20mW. Also included is 55dB of adjacent channel rejections and very high Doppler performance in 8K mode.
The Sundance H NMI310 is currently available in sample quantities, with volume production scheduled to begin in the third quarter of this year.
