New Osprey, Niagara Gear on Tap From Viewcast

ViewCast Corp. will show its Niagara streaming media encoders at NAB, which are preconfigured plug-and-play solutions that can simultaneously capture and broadcast premium-quality audio and video in multiple codecs at multiple bit-rates. Niagara’s audio/video capture engine is powered by ViewCast’s Osprey video software drivers and video capture hardware.

The Osprey PCI Express video streaming cards offer multiple Osprey capture cards in the new standard, PCI Express. The Osprey-700 HDe supports streaming high-definition and/or standard-definition content over IP video distribution and video-on-demand applications. The Osprey-240e, designed for video content providers working with varied analog media input and output connectivity, has a low-profile format that gives greater usability in small form-factor computers.

At the heart of Niagara streaming systems and Osprey video capture cards are ViewCast’s primary software products: Osprey SimulStream and Niagara SCX. Osprey SimulStream is a premium software upgrade that enhances the capabilities of Osprey video capture cards. With SimulStream, one Osprey video card can simultaneously output multiple instances of audio and video data from a single input source to multiple applications. Niagara SCX software gives users streamlined control and monitoring of multiple encoders from a single interface.

Both the Niagara SCX Standard and SCX Pro offer live streaming encoding abilities for Windows Media and RealVideo formats while the SCX Pro adds encoding for MPEG-4, H.264 and H.263 formats. Both Niagara SCX options feature data reporting and remote management. Live Flash streaming is an optional upgrade to the Niagara Pro and GoStream Plus appliances

ViewCast will be at Booth SL13109.
