Neural Audio and VoiceAge bring mobile audio enhancement system to NAB2008
By TVTechnology published
Neural Audio and VoiceAge showcased at NAB2008 a mobile audio compression system capable of delivering surround sound content at bit rates lower than 72kb/s: the Neural-AMR-WB+ with Neural-THX Surround.
The companies designed the solution to address the difficulty of delivering high-quality sound in the face of wireless transmission bandwidth capacity limitations. It enables the encoding and compression of surround content without perceptible artifacts into an audio stream at bit rates lower than 72kb/s. The encoded content can then be played back in stereo through headphones or speakers and in full surround sound using a Neural-THX Surround home or car entertainment system, depending on the capabilities of the receiving system.
