Linear Acoustic to Highlight New Aeromax DTV Audio Processors

Linear Acoustic will make noise at NAB2007 with its Aeromax Series of multichannel audio television processors providing loudness control, metadata processing, upmixing, and audio encoding for two-channel and multichannel audio programs.

The new Aeromax-DTV multichannel television audio processor offers six-channel functionality for surround broadcasting in a fully integrated, entry-level unit for controlling loudness and ensuring stable audio imaging for 5.1 channel broadcasts. The all-digital unit accepts 5.1 channel, stereo, and EAS audio. AutoMAX is an available option that fixes the problem of two-channel audio being sent to consumers but signaled as 5.1 channel audio.

Also new from the company is the Aeromax-5.1 10-Channel TV audio processor, which combines air-proven dynamics processing with surround sound upmixing and features metadata handling and extensive local audio features plus optional 5.1-channel Dolby Digital (AC-3) encoding. The unit accepts 5.1 network, plus two-channel local audio, plus digital or analog EAS audio.

The Aeromax-TV stereo television audio processor is a dynamics unit for two-channel main plus SAP audio, or four mono channels of audio. CrowdControl Dialog Protection Processing is provided for the main program audio and solves the "missing announcer" problem for stereo viewers without impacting sound quality for surround listeners.

"Aeromax-DTV, Aeromax-5.1 and Aeromax-TV represent the next generation of audio processing for all types of television audio," said Tim Carroll, founder of Linear Acoustic. "The Aeromax Series provides loudness control, upmixing, EAS insertion, metadata support and now Dolby Digital encoding--all in one, very well proven package. These units are a veritable one-stop-shop for handling all audio and metadata needs."

Linear Acoustic will be in booth C1048.
