Leader Instruments, a manufacturer of television test and measurement equipment, has begun shipments of its new LT488 multiformat pattern generator, which is targeted at service of high-resolution monitors and projectors. The LT488 features front-panel pushbuttons that can call up test patterns in 17 standards, including DVB, ATSC and ISDB, both progressive and interlaced. The maximum resolution supported by the device is 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The LT488 is packaged in a 2RU case and the unit has 100 presets that a user can quickly recall for specific testing requirements. Some of the test patterns include colorbars, raster, ramp, step, convergence, crosshatch and multiburst, and a natural still picture is available as an option. The unit has stereo audio outputs, as well as composite, component, VGA and DVI outputs.
