KTBS, KPXJ choose SeaChange HD platform
By TVTechnology published
Shreveport, LA, stations KTBS and KPXJ have chosen to expand their existing SeaChange platform to include HD broadcasting capabilities. Once deployed, the ABC and CW affiliates, respectively, will be on air with two HD channels and five SD channels.
SeaChange’s Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaClient (BML/MCL) digital video platform will be at the core of the KTBS and KPXJ delivery operation. The BML/MCL features distinct capabilities that have made it the foundation for more than 100 broadcasters worldwide: BML video servers, which cost-efficiently provide fault-resilient storage of any type of media file; and highly flexible SeaChange MCL codecs that easily fit with any device in a broadcast operations workflow and support any video output, from SD and HD play-to-air to broadband streams. Designed to support a wide range of automation systems, the SeaChange platform at KTBS and KPXJ is working in conjunction with Sundance.
