IDX has introduced a new multiformat playout server that will be shown at the 2009 Inter BEE show. The MFP-100, known as PlayMagic, is a dedicated solid-state drive.
Key characteristics of the PlayMagic model include support for MXF OP-1a, MPEG-2, QuickTime and DVCPRO HD file formats. Storage starts at 128GB (records two hours at 100Mb/s) with optional RAID 1 mirroring protection.
