IBC: New Signiant Software Stresses B2B Exchange
Signiant, a Burlington, Mass.-based provider of content distribution and automation software, introduced Version 8.2 of its Content Distribution Management (CDM) softare at the recent IBC Show in Amsterdam.
The new version includes significant enhancements, including the ability for Signiant Central Mangers to securely automate workflows and file movement across multiple organizations. Another key module, Media Exchange Publish Point, extends the Signiant platform to tasks like electronic newsgathering, user generated content, or any other remove content contribution applications. With Media Exchange Publish Point, content can be quickly published into categories for use by numerous customer-defined media workflows in the Media Manager. Additionally, Media Exchange Publish Point can be used as a portal for sharing content with multiple individual users.
“This is truly the next generation of content automation,” said Tony Lapolito, VP Marketing and Product Management, Signiant. “We’ve moved way beyond simply moving files across the globe. Now it’s all about eliminating the barriers to sharing media. Our customers, like NBC Universal, need to exchange and distribute their content with partners such as Hulu, Akamai, Apple iTunes, Comcast and AT&T, Signiant enables the ad-hoc exchange of information –and allows everyone to share content quickly and easily, while maintaining enterprise-level security and saving distribution costs.”
