Harris to launch exciter for MPH-based mobile TV at NAB2008
By TVTechnology published
Harris at NAB2008 will debut the Apex M2X, a digital exciter tailored to the mobile pedestrian handheld (MPH) ATSC mobile TV format it co-developed with LG Electronics and Zenith.
Broadcasters can use the exciter to deliver MPH content to mobile and video devices as well as standard and HDTV programming to traditional TV sets within the same transport stream. Compatible with most digital transmitters, the M2X incorporates the latest version of the company’s RTAC (real-time adaptive correction), which minimizes over-the-air signal distortions for FCC mask compliance through nonlinear correction. The technology now offers linear equalization of the modulation signal to maximize the coverage area throughout a specific market.
