GCT Semiconductor is bringing to the market the GDM7003, a monolithic single chip supporting S-DMB- and T-DMB-based mobile television applications. An undisclosed Korean handset maker in the production of a DMB phone supporting both standards is already using it.
The GDM7003 chip features channel switching in less than three seconds, a picture- in-picture function allowing users to watch two channels simultaneously and support of four S-DMB channels and two T-DMB channels enabling simultaneous viewing and recording of different channels. Designed for low power consumption, it is housed in a 236-pin LFBGA (11mm x 11mm x 1.3mm).
Evaluation and sample kits of the GDM7003 are now available.
