DVS HD Software Supports Panasonic's Varicam
By TVTechnology published
DVS has announced that its HD software now supports the variable frame rate of Panasonic's AJ-HDC27 (Varicam) HD film camera. DVS's HD Station Plus/RGB disk recorders, DVS CineControl on-set capturing system and Clipster real-time editing workstation all recognize the active frames of the 60 pictures per second transfer, and store only these frames for slow and fast motion capturing.
The DVS systems filter redundant data and reduce the amount of material stored, a beneficial feature for film projects, post-production and saving costs in storage.
V. 2.6 also supports ANC metadata, enabling the storage of time-code information via an HD-SDI link. ANC can be stored with video data in DPX-file format and footage can be viewed on the user interface during play-out.
