Crawford to offer content transfer service with SAMMA Systems

Crawford Communications, based in Atlanta, GA, will deploy SAMMA videotape to digital file conversion systems as part of a new service offering to help clients convert content on videotapes into computer files. The SAMMA system completes the conversion process up to 10 times faster than other solutions, according to the company.

In addition, the service assures high-quality results via its patented SAMMA Analysis Engine. Multiple streams of content are simultaneously encoded into open standard files, such as JPEG 2000, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and/or virtually any Internet streaming protocol. The new files created from archived videotapes are compatible with today’s IT workflow and ready to be browsed, viewed and monetized.

Crawford Communications, which is the first video service provider to offer the service, will now be able to provide conversion of every format, including U-matic and Betacam tapes.
