Comprompter unveils Caption Central automation

Comprompter has introduced Caption Central, which is designed to provide local broadcasters with multiple captioning solutions, including those for sending out captioning from newsroom computer systems (NRCS), keyboard entry and voice captioning.

Caption Central is a single touch-screen Microsoft Vista-based computer that lets a single person control all of the captioning from any newsroom system, type in adlibs or speak into the headset mic turning the words into text immediately.

Caption Central performs a context comparison and tries to select the most appropriate word when a conflict arises over its spelling, performs spell checking and capitalizes names of people, places and things.

A unique USB-based audio mixer allows a live studio voice, like a weather or sports caster, to speak directly into Caption Central and turn unscripted words into captioned text.
