Cobalt Digital Helps SPEED Control Audio Channels

Cobalt Digital recently developed a custom “Audio Wizard” for the Fox-owned SPEED facility in Charlotte, NC, to provide quick access to set pre-existing controls for the station’s users. The “Audio Wizard” is a specially developed software application integrated into a number of Cobalt’s 9000 series cards providing specific requirements for SPEED; namely, output audio channel assignments.

Cobalt cards that include the “Audio Wizard” control include the 9321-DE HD/SD Embedder with Dolby Decoding option, the HD/SD-SDI 9062 Up/Down/Cross Converter and the Universal Audio and Video Input HD/SD-SDI 9061 Up/Down/Cross Converter.

The Cobalt 9000 series COMPASS cards for openGear are used extensively in the facility. There are approximately 140 openGear frames containing a variety of audio and video processing, distribution and conversion cards, all being monitored and controlled via DashBoard software. Also in use are 14 Cobalt OGCP-9000 remote control panels, and one OGCP-9000/CC (for 9084 Color Corrector control and manipulation).

SPEED is a cable television network that covers motor sports and automotive topics, including NASCAR. It’s available in 78 million homes in North America.
