Belden Announces Digital Coax for Trucks
By TVTechnology published
Belden Electronics, a manufacturer of wire and cable based in Richmond, Ind., developed its new Brilliance DigiTruck 179DT coax cable specifically for video production truck applications. Thin and lightweight, this RG-179 type coax can be used for analog video, SDI, HDTV and AES/EBU digital audio applications.
Compared to RG-59 coax cable, Brilliance DigiTruck 179DT weighs 60 percent less and uses up to 40 percent less space. The new cable is described as crush-resistant, with a dielectric of foamed high-density polyethylene, and it is sweep tested to 3 GHz. A new shield design makes the cable compatible with both one-piece and multipiece connector designs.
