Andrew Corp. has introduced a grounding kit to protect communications systems against lightning strikes. The Compact SureGround Grounding Kits are one-piece grounding assemblies with weatherproofing molded into the grounding strap.
According to Andrew, a self-locking, self-sealing weatherproof boot negates the need for loose hardware and taping. The kit has over 200 square millimeters of surface to provide increased protection against the most severe lightning strikes. Tests of the SureGround withstood over 100,000 amps, the company said.
The kit has a patented snap-and-lock installation process and comes with a universal grounding lug that can be connected to earthing busses with 1- or 2-hole attachment points.
