WORCESTER, Mass. -- April 14, 2008 -- Telecast Fiber Systems is now shipping two new fiber optic communications modules in support of the award-winning openGear terminal equipment platform. The new modules include a card pair for transmitting and receiving uncompressed SDI/HD-SDI signals over fiber, and another pair for SDI plus two asynchronous AES audio.
Founded by Ross Video, openGear is an open standard for a modular, 2RU frame that can house card modules of any type from a number of manufacturers for plug-and-play assembly of a video control system in broadcasting production operations. openGear also provides the platform for a Web-based control system that allows for quick and easy monitoring and control of openGear frames and modules on the network. With the two new modules, Telecast is providing the fiber optic component for a complete openGear rack mount solution.

The HD-SDI module set, which includes part numbers OG-TX292-A and OG-RX292, is currently available from Telecast Fiber Systems. The SDI + 2 AES module set, with part numbers OG-TX269-A and OG-RX269, will be available for purchase by late spring.
