RTW, a leading provider of advanced audio metering and monitoring technology, has won the China Radio and TV (CRTA) Scientific and Technology Innovation Award 2008/2009 for its SurroundControl 31900 and 31960 surround monitoring and analysis systems. The awards were given in a ceremony in the Beijing Great Hall of the People during CCBN, the biggest broadcast show in China, by leaders from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television.

The CRTA Scientific and Technology Innovation Award 2008/2009 is judged by a panel of industry experts appointed by the CRTA Equipment Industry Association of Technology. Awards go to “the products, technologies, and organizations or individuals that make significant contributions to the scientific and equipment progress of China’s radio and television industry."

“China is an important market for RTW, so we are very pleased to have been given this award,” said Andreas Tweitmann, managing director of RTW. “It will help raise the company’s profile, building on the very strong interest our products are creating in China.”

The SurroundControl 31900 and 31960 series offer the unique combination of an RTW Surround Monitoring Controller with the RTW Surround Sound Analyzer that allows controlling, analyzing, and monitoring surround sound programs from 5.1 to 7.1. Combining the metering functions of the RTW surround display devices with the control capabilities of an eight-channel monitoring controller, the SurroundControl 31900 and 31960 allow users to reap the benefits of an unusually high performance system.

RTW’s product range includes tools for the visualization, analysis, and acoustical monitoring of audio signals in many different channel configurations ranging from mono to surround sound and Dolby® E encoded signals.
