3pm, I’m on the way to the Wynn Hotel. Never been there, but I hear it’s fabulous.
The Thomson press conference takes place at 4pm. I hear they’ve got several new products to announce and maybe an updated list of Infinity users,
After that, the 5pm Omneon press conference at the Palms Casino. Never been to the Palms either. Wow, two new places in one day. Cool!
I understand that Omneon has lots of equipment in the NBC Olympic broadcast center, but they can’t talk about it. Sorta, if I tell you I’d have to kill you kinda thing. Oh well, we’ll find out and let you in on the Chinese secret.
After the Omneon event, its off to the Broadcast Engineering staff dinner at Morel’s. Always a good feed when the crew gets together at NAB.
