EuroNews Signs Genesis Networks for Delivery of European News Programming to Americas

NEW YORK — June 11, 2008 — Genesis Networks, a provider of next-generation global video transmission services, today announced that it has been selected by EuroNews to provide fully managed distribution services for delivery of EuroNews to North and South American marketplaces.

Genesis Networks provides a fully managed network backhaul and distribution solution, including fiber connectivity, from the EuroNews master control facility in Lyon, France, to the Genesis Networks uplink facilities in New York and Atlanta. The signals are uplinked to the Genesis Networks cable distribution platforms on Galaxy 23 and Intelsat 9 for access by major cable and DTH affiliates throughout North and South America. The turnkey transmission solution includes delivery of seven audio signals in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Russian.

To help EuroNews launch the new service in Latin America, Genesis Networks procures and administers IRDs and authorization codes for each affiliate that joins the service. In addition, EuroNews has access to Genesis Networks' IRIS software and ultralinks. These tools enable EuroNews to monitor the quality of its transmissions across the globe from the company's operations center in Lyon.

"When we put the North and South America service out to competitive bidding, Genesis Networks was the clear choice," said Cecile Leveaux, CTO for EuroNews. "Genesis Networks is known in the industry as a video over IP pioneer, and its global infrastructure, superior quality of service, and highly resilient design make it ideal for our needs as we continue to reach broader markets in the Americas. Additionally, Genesis Networks' in-depth knowledge of the American marketplace made it a good choice as a long-term partner."

"We are happy to play such an important role in enabling EuroNews to expand its reach and secure new revenue opportunities," said Paul Dujardin, president and CEO of Genesis Networks. "By delivering its programming to viewers outside of Europe, EuroNews is helping to provide a more comprehensive and balanced view of world events."
