NAB Seeks Details of Satellite Violations From FCC

NAB wants information from the FCC about the satellite companies' repeater violations.

The broadcast association said it sent a letter to the commission responding to XM and Sirius's objection to its Freedom of Information Act request. NAB wants info related to the satellite companies' violations of FCC rules governing FM modulators and terrestrial repeaters.

The NAB said it's pushing the commission to provide the records to "shed light on the scope, nature, and degree" of the repeater violations. NAB says there is a compelling public interest with a direct bearing on the pending satellite merger.
