LOS ANGELES, JANUARY 27, 2016 – Live television broadcasts between Los Angeles and New York City will soon be faster than ever, thanks to the recently-completed expansion of Wilcon’s state-of-the-art, fiber-optic network infrastructure in West Los Angeles. The Pacific Television Center (PacTV) entertainment transmission facility, located on Motor Avenue, is harnessing Wilcon’s extensive optical network to increase distribution speeds.
“The age of high-definition video has created a necessity for the rapid transmission of uncompressed content,” said Jon DeLuca, chief executive officer of Wilcon. “The entertainment industry needs reliability and security, and Wilcon has always been at the forefront of both as a leader in fiber-optic network infrastructure. We’re honored to broaden our partnership with PacTV as we enter 2016.”
Awards shows, sporting events and other real-time programming will have reliable and secure ultra-broadband service thanks to Wilcon’s introduction of dark fiber and diverse entry routing into the Motor Avenue hub. The cutting-edge infrastructure utilizes Wilcon’s current 3,000-mile network, as well as additional newly constructed fiber-optic infrastructure.
“We’ve been working with Wilcon since 2015,” said Jakob Nielsen, deployment engineer for Pacific Television Center. “Our main goal will always be transmission efficiency, and Wilcon has helped us provide that to our broadcast clients, which in turn has helped satisfy their customers. We plan on being a Wilcon partner for years to come.”
