Motorola has introduced the Motorola IP-STB 1100, its newest addition to the set-top platform which joined the company’s IP video portfolio though the acquisition of Kreatel Communications.
This new interactive set-top lets service providers deliver core services, such as IP-based video decoding and on-demand applications, into the connected homes of their customers. The IP-STB 1100 expands Motorola’s IP-based set-top offerings with an entry-level product.
The IP-STB 1100 supports the Kreatel TV Application Platform, a software architecture that enables service providers to create applications running on any IP-STB series set top in a video delivery system regardless of differences in device hardware. For service providers, this provides a cost-effective path for adding new set-tops and services that can exist alongside currently deployed products.
