118th AES Convention to feature digital audio archiving tours

AES plans a set of tours and related activities involving the topic of digital audio archiving at its convention May 28-31 at the CCIB Convention in Centre, Barcelona Spain. The event will focus on the new technologies and services that are necessary to build a digital archive.
Derk Reefman will chair “Which audio recording and storage medium for what purpose” on Sunday May 29th. Reefman will discuss the differences between storage media such as digital tape, optical disk and hard disk.
A “Technologies for Digital Audio Archiving” workshop will take place Monday, May 30th. Stefani Renner will chair the workshop.
Also, a guided tour through the exhibition is planned, showing all archiving technologies and services that are shown at the exhibition.
