Weigel Taps JVC Camera For Syndicated Business News

Weigel Broadcasting's WCIU-TV has tapped JVC's GY-HD250 for First Business -- the station's syndicated news program produced in Chicago. The program is distributed daily to more than 90 affiliate stations across the U.S.
First Business is a half-hour show that looks ahead at the coming day's trading. Kyle Walker, Weigel’s director of engineering, also chose the GY-HD250s for the station's new children's series called Green Screen Adventures.
“We evaluated many cameras, most with higher price tags. The thing that impressed me about the GY-HD250 is that for the money, the camera is pretty hard to beat,” commented Walker.
First Business uses the GY-HD250s both in studio and out in the field, where the cameras are equipped with JVC's DR-HD100 hard disk recorders.
The show is broadcast from one of three remote financial exchange locations where the feed is then sent back to the station via fiber. When shooting on location, additional GY-HD250s equipped with JVC DR-HD100 HD hard disk recorders are used.
