Wegener Nets $534,000 Order

DULUTH,GA.: Satellite distribution specialist Wegener Corp. said today it received an order for $534,000 to upgrade an existing background music network. The order was received during the current quarter--the first fiscal quarter of 2010 and will be shipped F2Q10.

The order comprises Wegener’s Compel network control system and Unity 202 enterprise audio receivers. The company’s background music solution is optimized to manage multiple clients, music channels and audio insertions over satellite. A network operator can customize several aspects of play-out for individual or groups of up to 100,000-plus sites. The Unity 202 supports the new standard for satellite demodulation technology, DVB-S2.

Wegener last week posted a $2.6 million loss for its fiscal 2009 year, on revenues of $12.7 million. President and CEO Troy Woodbury said at the time that Wegener would need “significant orders” for the balance of 2010.
