Vuze unveils new HD P2P network

Azureus has announced Vuze, a new HD broadband entertainment network.

Vuze will offer the U.S. premiere of the hit BBC TV series "Sorted," which will be offered in HD. An agreement with Showtime Networks includes distribution of its original programming, including award-winning hit shows "Weeds," "Dexter" and "The L Word." Other content partners include A&E Networks, National Geographic, Starz Media and more than 20 other media companies.

Vuze users must download a client application. The site's videos, most of which are long-form and in HD, are available to download for free, for rent or purchase. Formally known as Zudeo, Vuze was soft-launched at the beginning of 2007 and has already attracted 2 million unique monthly views.

Vuze offers a toolset that enables content providers to publish, showcase and distribute high-resolution, long form content in HD or DVD quality over the Internet.
