VertigoXmedia joins with STATS for dynamic sports data display

VertigoXmedia and STATS, a sports information provider, have partnered to offer a new system for delivering live sports information to air quickly and cost-effectively. Vertigo's recently launched channel-in-a-box system, Xstation, includes integrated support for the STATS data feed. Now, when coupled with a subscription to STATS, Xstation allows customers to air real-time sports results in tickers, crawls, or other data-driven graphics within minutes.

STATS provides real-time sports headlines, real-time game scores and player stats, game schedules, standings, and leader boards via its flexible XML data feeds, which are linked directly to Xstation. With a built-in parser for STATS’ data, users can create their Xstation channel graphics by either authoring them in Xstudio, or simply dragging and dropping graphics from the customizable library of Xmedia Objects that ships with Xstation.

Graphics can be controlled by the traffic or automation systems, with manual override when required, allowing broadcasters to operate their channels with minimal staffing. Xstation also can run as a stand-alone unit within a station because it ships with its own scheduling and control functionality.

VertigoXmedia and STATS will exhibit their turnkey sports information solution at the NAB convention. For more information, visit http://biz.stats.com and www.vertigoxmedia.com.
