TM Forum Moves Into Cable

The TM Forum, which is dedicated to operational and business management issues for information, communications and entertainment services, is making a push into cable with the creation of a Cable Interest Group (CIG).

Kelly Anderson has been tapped to head the cable initiative for TM Forum.

Also, the organization will focus on operation and management solutions for cable operators at its Management World Americas event, taking place 4–8 November 2007 in Dallas.

The CIG is composed of multiple system operators from Europe and the U.S. It will address operators' needs for data management, service delivery, revenue assurance and the management of services such as advertising, multimedia applications, interactive services, and the introduction of personalized content.

Anderson joins TM Forum from IPDR.org, a collaborative industry consortium focused on next-generation IP service usage and exchange standards worldwide; IPDR.org is now part of the TM Forum.
