Thomson Grass Valley install digital news production system at TV Norge

TV Norge's new studio is being built around the Thomson Grass Valley Digital news production solution. Thomson Grass Valley will support its entire news production process — from ingest to scheduling, editing and playout.

The Norwegian national broadcaster's studio, built in Oslo by the production company MTV Juritzen, features the first European implementation of the Thomson Grass Valley NewsQ Pro automated news playback system, as well as the Thomson Grass Valley FeedClip interactive feed capture system, Thomson Grass Valley NewsEdit nonlinear editor, and the Profile XP Media Platform.

Built from the ground up and live-to-air within a month, the MTV Juritzen studio relies on the Thomson Grass Valley Digital News Production Solution to produce and transmit the complete news output of TV Norge. These programs include two national bulletins a day, a regular current affairs feature, “Norway Today,” and a broad range of regional news programming. MTV Juritzen contracted the local distributor, 2MTV media products AS, to supply and install a system based on the Thomson Grass Valley Digital News Production Solution.

The MTV Juritzen studio includes the first NewsQPro system in Europe, as well as a FeedClip system, three NewsEdit systems, and a Profile XP Media Platform.

TV Norge awarded MTV Juritzen a five-year contract worth $20 million (US) to build the news studio and to implement and operate a news production system.
