Mark Kearns has been appointed to the position of chairman & CEO of the U.S. operations of Thales Broadcast & Multimedia. Kearns will head U.S.-based activities, including broadcast, multimedia, wireless and test and measurement from the headquarters in Southwick, Mass. He replaces Jerry Chase, who was promoted to chairman and CEO of Thales Broadcast & Multimedia's global headquarters in France.
Kearns worked for 10 years at Harris Corp., and most recently worked out of Malaysia as vice president/managing director for the Asia Pacific market for Harris. Previously he was the director of Harris Brazil, Ltd., and the director of strategic business development for Harris in Melbourne, Fla.
He received a BSEE from Case Western University and an MBA in International Business from Duke.
