Snell & Wilcox introduced the second generation of the IMPAKT 3-D DVE option for the Kahuna SD/HD multiformat production switcher at NAB2007.
The IMPAKT DVE now features 12 new effects and effects models that extend the image-manipulation capabilities of Kahuna operators. It also simplifies application of these effects during live production. These include circular pond ripples, swirl, glow effect, warp, melt and flat and 3-D shatter effects. The latest edition of IMPAKT also offers operators preset triangular-based effects, trail-based effects and a lighting generator.
With IMPAKT, Kahuna offers up to four twin-channel 3-D DVEs that users can apply in SD, HD or both, and which work in source-based or bus-based modes, allowing both background and fill-and-key manipulation.
The latest generation of IMPAKT is available for all Kahuna products, including existing systems in the field, and is now shipping.
